Egyptian culture, New Kingdom, c. 1550 - 1070 BC
Egyptian ushabti in blue faience, with two hoes in its crossed arms. On the back there is a bag painted.
Dimensions: 99 x 40 mm. Fascinating item. Broken and repaired, minor missings. Initially present in a single specimen in Egyptian tombs, the ushabti had to come alive and serve the deceased in the afterlife. They subsequently became an abundant presence in Egyptian tombs.
The presence of the bag in the back allows us to date the ushabti to the New Kingdom.
