Corn-ear and KA series. AE Triens, Sicily (Catana/Siracusae), from 211 BC. Obv. Helmeted head of Minerva right; above, four pellets. Rev. Prow right; above, corn-ear; before, KA; below, ROMA. Cr. 69/4b. 11.37 g. 24.00 mm. Scarce. Lovely green patina. Minor metal flaws on reverse. About EF/Good VF. The dating of this coin has been suggested by Roberto Lippi, based on a new soon to be published study.
