Bare head of Nero Claudius Drusus left, countermark NCAPR in incuse rectangle behind. Rev. TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG PM TR P IMP PP SC (in exergue). Claudius (or Drusus) seated left on curule chair, holding branch, surrounded by arms,. RIC I (2nd ed.) (Claud.) 109. AE. 25.16 g. 36 mm. Scarce. The countermark NCAPR should be read as 'Nummus Caesare Augusto PRobatus', usually applied on worn coins to validate it's denominational value. Good F.
