Early Byzantine period, c. 4th to 8th century AD.
Lot of two (2) byzantine square weights, one of three ounce and the other of three nomismata weight. Engraved decoration with laurel wreath and cross. In the former we have the letters ΓΓ and in the latter ΝΓ deeply engraved.
Weights: 82.35 and 12.95 g.
Dimensions: 34x34 and 18x18 mm. Bendall nn. 65 and 98. Intact, both with lovely green patina.
