Minturnae' Second Punic War issue. AE Sextans, after 211 BC. Obv. Head of Mercury right, wearing winged petasus; above, two pellets. Rev. Prow right; above, ROMA; [below, two pellets]. Cr. 56/6. 2.49 g. 16.00 mm. Lovely brown patina with minor green encrustations. Unusually light for issue. Some area of weakness, otherwise. about EF. This new attribution to the Minturnae mint follows the new study published by Clive Stannard. For more informations see C.
