ROMAN LEAD HEAD
Roman period, c. 2nd-4th century AD.
Lead plaque in the shape of a female head (?) with both faces in relief. The grotesque features suggest a deliberately ugly caricature The characteristics are rendered with a beak nose, big eyes on a narrow face with a long neck.
Dimensions: 41 x 25 mm.
Hollow and a cracked area (see the pictures above), otherwise very well preserved.
