Constans II (641-668). AV Solidus, Syracuse mint. Obv. Fragmentary legend: dN CONS[T]-NTI. Facing busts of Constans, with long beard, wearing plumed helmet, and Constantine IV, wearing crown and chlamys. Rev. VICTORIA AVGCIKU. Cross potent above three steps, between facing standing figures of Heraclius and Tiberius, both beardless, each wearing crown and chlamys and holding globus cruciger; beneath, CONOB. D.O. 162c; Sear 1086A. 4.41 g. 21.50 mm. RR. Very rare and superb example. Minor and peripheral areas of flat strike, otherwise. Good EF.
