Surface treated with some kind of reddish solution to mimic another material. About VF. Johan Jacob Baier (1677-1735) was a physician and professor for medicine at the University of Altdorf. From 1730 President of the Academy Leopoldina (also known as National Academy of Science). Shortly thereafter he was appointed as personal physician of the Emperor and was made a Count Palatine.
